Whitewater State Park was closed from August 19, 2007, the date of the historic flood, until March 1, 2008. Since then, the phased reopening has continued as repairs continue on damaged infrastructure. Most of the park's recreational opportunities have been restored, though work will continue on certain roads and bridges into 2009.
