Twenty-four Mixed Teams competed in the Annual Centerville Mixed Bonspiel this weekend for some great curling competition. The First Event was won by the Laura Delaney Rink from Centerville 11-10 in an extra end over the Joel Moore Team from Mapleton, MN. Laura was down 6-1 after four ends but scored 6 in the fifth and another 3 in the sixth to pull ahead 10-6. Joel Moore scored three in the 7th end and one in the 8th end to force the extra end as Delaney drew the button for the win. Curling with Delaney was Mark Delaney, Vice Skip; Lynita Delaney, second; and Todd Roessler, lead. Melanie Moore, third, with Robert and Lisa Shubert on the front end filled out the Moore Rink
Second Event honors went to the Jay Byron Rink from Mapleton over the Jerry Johnson Rink from Eau Claire. Mandy Van Rossen, Tom Van Rossen, and Geralyn Van Rossen completed the Byron Rink. Curling with Johnson was his wife, Pam, at third; with Glenn and Betsy Brommerich from Trempealeau on the front end.
The Le Roy Hovell Team from Centerville won the Third Event, 9-2, over the Bob Hanson Rink from Galesville. Kathy Hovell, third; Larry Adams, second; and Rhonda Adams, lead, filled out the Hovell Rink. Curling with Hanson was his wife, Nancy, third; Greg Redsten, second; and Diane Redsten, lead.
Fourth Event was captured by the Jeff Hammond Rink with Rachelle Jacobs, third, and Ray and Sue Hovell filling in the front end. Hammond defeated the Terry Borchart Rink from Mapleton with Jodi Borchart, Tim and Christy Krengle from Mapleton.
