The Winona Middle School will hold its 5th Grade Academy on August 18th, 19th and 20th. Pre-registration is required by August 11th and can be made by calling 507-494-1031.
Orientation for 5th and 6th grade will be held at WMS on Monday, August 25th. Orientation for 7th and 8th grade will be on Tuesday, August 26th. Times for orientation are according to the students last name and can be found in the orientation letter and on the WMS website.
Academy reminders and orientation letters were mailed along with an emergency/field trip form that should be completed and returned during orientation. A newsletter is also included. Directory Information forms are available in WMS Student Services and also on the website. This form allows parents to request data privacy for their child; this may also be done by writing the school. Restricting a child’s information in this way prevents the child’s name from being listed in the yearbook, on recognition programs, the honor roll, etc. Data privacy requests remain valid for one year unless rescinded in writing.
Supply lists for the upcoming school year were mailed earlier this summer with the report cards and are also available at WMS and in the local stores. Report cards not yet picked up are still available in Student Services.
New student registrations may be done Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:30am and 3:30pm; earlier times are available by appointment.
Notification to parents: as a safety precaution and in accordance with the law, all employees and individuals who provide services to the School District are required to submit to a criminal history background check.
If you do not receive an orientation letter for your child by August 7th, please call the school. Questions may be directed to WMS Student Services at 507-494-1031.
