Just when you thought you had it all figured out, Ronnie Brown dismantled the Mighty Patriots and the Bengals nearly took down the champs. You couldn’t make it up if you tried.
Meanwhile, the Vikes did an admiral job shutting down Carolina’s Steve Smith last week but you can’t keep a good man down. Look for Smith to regain his spot among the fantasy elite this week against a young and vulnerable Atlanta secondary.
Other starts: Chris Perry versus Cleveland, Philadelphia Defense at Chicago
I am going to tell you something that nobody else will, bench Willie Parker this week. Yeah I know, he has a few 100 yard games this year but they happened against Houston and Cleveland (both teams are among the worst in the league at stopping the run).
Now after post 20 yards on 13 carries against Phili, he gets the Ravens defense. Not only has he never scored a rushing touchdown or gone for more than 50 yards against them since 2005, but the Ravens haven’t allowed a 100 yard rusher since December 2006 and, worst of all, the Steelers line can’t block anyone.
More pine riders: Matt Schaub at Jacksonville, LenDale White versus Minnesota.
Don’t forget that the following teams are on a bye this week; Detroit, Indianapolis, Miami, New York Giants, and Seattle.
See you next week.
