So far rookies are making quite an impact in fantasy leagues. If you own players like Chris Johnson, DeSean Jackson, and Eddie Royal you know what I am talking about. There is no doubt that competition for Rookie of the Year in 2008 is about as stiff as any in my lifetime.
This week look for a few other rookies to make a case for the coveted title.
Look for the Bears Matt Forte to have success against a horrible Detroit rush defense. They are giving up 208 yards rushing per game and will be no match for Forte who is averaging 86 yards per game rushing against much tougher opponents like Phili, Carolina and Tampa.
Next, Steve Slaton of the Houston Texans takes on an Indianapolis squad that is nearly as bad as Detroit. They are 31st in the league and they are giving up an embarrassing 199 yards per game.
Slaton may not have the rushing yards per game that Forte does but two weeks ago he posted 116 and a touchdown against a great Tennessee defense. And last week he got his numbers through the air with 8 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown against Jacksonville.
Either one could come in pretty handy if you have a back on one of the following teams on a bye this week: Browns, Jets, Raiders and Rams.
Have a good one!
