Richard “Dick” J. Pozanc, 73, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Winona Community Memorial Hospital in Winona, MN. Dick was born December 5, 1934, in Winona, MN, to Edmund and Gertrude (Pulchinski) Pozanc. Dick served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Toni Pampuch on February 7, 1959, in Winona, MN. Dick owned and operated Pozanc Oil Company in Winona for 27 years and then had worked for RTP and Suffrins Bus Co. Dick was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight, served on the Goodview City Council for 10 years, served on the Goodview Volunteer Fire Department for 24 years, was past president of the Goodview Activity Group, member of the American Legion in Winona and the Elks Club in Goodview. Dick enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, traveling, wintering in Texas for many years and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Toni; three children, Tom (Dar) Pozanc of Winona, MN, Cynthia (Shawn) Wendling of Anchorage, AL, and Steve (Lissa Haney) Pozanc of Winona, MN; five grandchildren, Nicole Pozanc, Jessica Pozanc, Corbin Pozanc, Zach Pozanc and Sara Wendling; two brothers, Daniel (Carol) Pozanc of Winona, MN, and Stanley (Leona) Pozanc of Rollingstone, MN; and sister, Mary Ann (Marvin) Larsen of Winona, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of visitation and celebrating Dick’s life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service Hansen Goodview Chapel from 3-7:00pm where there will be a Christian prayer service held at 7:00pm. Interment will be held at a later date.
