For many of you there are certain things you can count on each and every Thanksgiving Day: relishing time with the fam, being able to eat yourself silly and watching the Detroit Lions get kicked around by a superior team.
This week that superior team is the Tennessee Titans. After a disappointing first loss of the season to the Jets, you know they are going to be coming to Ford Field focused and ready to do what they do best; play defense and run the ball.
Make sure you have LenDale White, Chris Johnson and the Tennessee defense in your line-up and. you’ll be feasting on more than just Aunt Edna’s Butterball. Heck, if everything goes as planned, you could get yours and still get a nap in before the late afternoon game.
Meanwhile, ex-Viking Tyler Thigpen is one of the surprises of the year. He has brought a level of respectability back to a Kansas City offense that was in a downward spiral to begin the year.
This Sunday he enters the Black Hole to take on a tenth ranked Raiders pass defense. If they can hold Jay Cutler to 204 yards and no touchdowns, there is no reason to think that Thigpen will do much better.
Finally, I just wanted to let you know that I am thankful that you spend your precious time reading this column. I really do appreciate it.
That said, I want to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll see you next week.
