Jergenson nominated for SMU Outstanding Senior Award (03/04/2009)
Saint Mary’s University English major Julia Jergenson, daughter of Skip and Kris Jergenson of Houston, Minn., was nominated for the university’s Outstanding Senior Female Award.

For the past 44 years, Saint Mary’s has honored a male and female senior who have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.

Jergenson has demonstrated these qualities through her involvement with Student Senate, the campus radio station KSMR and as a resident assistant. She would like to find a teaching position in the Twin Cities area after receiving her degree from Saint Mary’s.

The Outstanding Senior Male and Female Awards were presented during the university’s Founder’s Day Feb. 24 to Jakub Szymanski of Opole, Poland, and Emily Berg of Owatonna, Minn.
