The 2009 Summer Tennis Camp is located at the outdoor Winona Area Tennis Association Tennis Courts at the Cotter Campus and, in case of inclement weather, the indoor courts will be used. All Tennis classes are designed to help each student succeed to the best of their ability while enjoying a sport of a lifetime. There is a family discount for two or more children. WATA LITTLE HITTERS TENNIS – Elementary – Grades 1st – 4th (All skill levels):

This program is designed for beginners who would like to learn the fundamentals of tennis. The focus of this camp will be on tennis basics; forehand, backhand, serves, volleys and game based drills.

WATA MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS:

While expanding on the tennis basics we focus on greater control by utilizing different types of spins and referencing the three power levels for greater consistency. Introduction to playing strategies within match play based drills will be featured.

WATA JUNIOR VARSITY TENNIS:

Designed for the competitive player that has improved stroke dependability and direction on moderate shots. We start to evaluate the four areas of the game, which include physical, mental, emotional, and tactical development. Students will be challenged to improve each element of their game. Through game based drills and match play.

WATA HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY TRAVEL TEAM TENNIS: Competitive Tournament Player
Monday – Wednesday 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM Tuesday – Thursday 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
Geared for the serious player ready to take their game to the next level through the strong emphasis on utilizing competitive edge training systems and tactical principles that transcend all levels of play. Conditioning, mental toughness, developing patterns of play, and sportsmanship will also be emphasized. Players in the High School Varsity Travel team will be involved in competitive match play with teams from other areas with similar programs and/or Junior USA Team Tennis. (Wayzata, Owatonna, Austin, Mankato and others)
