A goat found tied up in a woman’s trunk Friday is in good hands after being confiscated by Winona Animal Control and moved to a Wisconsin farm.
Police said a 21-year-old St. Paul woman with car trouble brought her vehicle into Tires Plus on Friday to have a belt fixed. There, she told an employee that there was a live goat inside the trunk which she was bringing to the Twin Cities to slaughter.
But after seeing the goat, which was painted purple and gold and had the number four shaved into its side, the employee called animal control, which confiscated the animal.
It appears that the incident may have been a gag centered around former Packer Brett Favre and his recent signing with the Vikings. But police referred the woman to the city attorney, who may issue charges against the 21-year-old woman.
The goat, now called “Brett,” was taken to a “goat sanctuary” in Eau Claire, Wis., police said Tuesday.
