Katie Lee Hornberg, 14, died Friday, April 23, 2010, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident near Altura, MN. Katie was born on June 20, 1995, in Winona, MN, to Jason and Shannon (Stiever) Hornberg. Katie was an 8th grade student at Lewiston High School where she played flute for the school band and enjoyed playing softball, going catfishing, writing poetry and drawing, and photography. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston.
Katie will be deeply missed by her surviving family, mother, Shannon (Todd) Hundt of Altura, MN, father, Jason (Alisa) Hornberg of Winona, MN, siblings, Hanna, Allison, Jami and Branden, paternal grandparents, Butch and Joan Hornberg of Winona, MN, maternal grandparents, Sue (Franklin) Molitor of Winona and Wayne Stiever of Winona, great-grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Stiever of Winona, and Ruth Ives of Hasting, NE; aunts and uncles, Carol (Todd) Schmieg, Lynn (Kevin) Allen, Lora Molitor, Ray (Kris) Molitor, Shanie (Jeff) Grant, Candes (Darren Boyum) Stiever, Jennifer (Jason) Quarberg and Franklin Molitor Jr.; and many great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Irvin Hornberg, Gloria Hempfner and Milton Ives.
A funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, April 28th, at 2:00pm, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Reverend Milo Ernster officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona, MN.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
