Thank you, Winona! What a fantastic response Winona Volunteer Services saw from the community for last weekend’s Letter Carrier Food Drive. The letter carriers picked up more than 13,500 pounds of food and close to $300 in cash donations for the Food Shelf!
On behalf of our clients, the staff at Winona Volunteer Services are very grateful. So far in 2010, we are seeing an average of 11% more households visiting the food shelf each month compared to last year. Furthermore, this is our last food drive until the Ten Days of Giving in December.
We’d like to give a resounding THANK YOU to area residents who contributed food or cash, to our hard-working letter carriers, to the volunteers who sorted all of the food, and to the volunteers who are helping give the food to those who need it.
