Houston Nature Center event July 10 (06/30/2010)
Mosquito and Tick Borne Diseases with Eric “The Bug Guy” Dotseth

7:00 PM Saturday, July 10

Houston Nature Center

Yes, mosquitoes and ticks can transmit diseases to humans, including some really not-so-nice ones. Join Eric “The Bug Guy” Dotseth, a medical entomologist with the La Crosse County Health Department and General Biology Instructor at Globe University, to learn about the signs and symptoms of these diseases, as well as how to prevent and treat them. You’ll also get to go outside and see first-hand how scientists trap these pesky critters and see specimens of the various species.

This program is free and open to the public. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Highways 16 and 76 in Houston in Trailhead Park on West Plum Street. For more information contact the Nature Center at 507-896-4668 or nature@acegroup.cc.
