Oh, the love and responsibility a mother is held accountable for. Mothers, mothers think about your role as a mother (fathers as well). We are their first teachers, it is our responsibility to pray for them and help guide them toward their heavenly home. When they are made a child of God at baptism then God joins in the journey toward their faith, to know, love and serve Him and that heaven is their real destination.
Yes, parents, we battle against the evils of the world and all its demands. Our children need to know its okay to be different as they battle the temptations of the latest fashions (which it seems some are designed in hell), the satanic music, drugs, illicit sex, etc. Yes, children, dare to be different, form a good Christian conscience, then follow it. If you lose some popularity, so what! Do the right thing, you can then enjoy peace in your heart.
Peace doesn’t come easily anymore where war and rumors of war fill the air. Please allow me to refer back to a past editorial. “Do we really want war?” Did you notice the small news article October 15. I quote - Baghdad...the U.S. military said nearly 77,000 Iraqi civilians and security officials were killed from early 2004 to mid-2008. Iraqi Human Rights put the figure around 85,694. I repeat, do we really want war?
Yet we can still know peace in our hearts if we allow the light of Christ to illuminate the darkness in your path along the way to God. Children, this can happen because God recycles your mother’s prayers into His light which leads you toward your heavenly home.
Our hearts and restless until they rest in Thee.
