Many times when I think about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, He gives me a song. Right now I’m hearing “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus.” We used to sing that when my church (Living Light) met in the Red Cross building. I’m sure many people will remember it too.
First I want to have you think about something else.
Suppose you read in the paper that a very wealthy man who lived in New York had died and his will was something to catch everyone’s attention. He was giving away millions of dollars, small farm houses, even a resort in northern Minnesota. The people who would receive this inheritance were some people from southeastern Minnesota. Would that get your attention?
All the people would receive a letter from the lawyers who were taking care of the details. In the letter they would receive instructions as to who to contact, numbers to call. From there they would be brought to New York by plane from Rochester, all expenses paid.
Of course you know this is my imagination running wild and I have never heard of such happening in my life.
But of course you know why I’m writing this article. I want to ask you if you have made the greatest decision of your life. That is having you ask Jesus for forgiveness of all sins, past, present and future? Have you asked Him for eternal life, when you do? And have you asked Him into your heart to guide you for the rest of your life here on earth? If you have, you are a born again Christian and will receive all the gifts He offers, and has died on the cross for. He did all this for all of us and everyone who will believe in Him will be saved.
As Jesus said so often when He was teaching, “I tell you the truth and this is the truth.” He repeated His words many times, and so I’m repeating them again.
John 14:6, He tells us, “No one can get to the Father except through me.”
John 3:16, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not die but will have everlasting life.
This is all I have for you at this time. I pray and trust in Jesus to touch your heart and bring you to this great decision in your life.’
Jesus loves you and so do I.
