November 30

The Lois Club will meet Tuesday, November 30, at 12:30 p.m. at the Country Kitchen.

December 1

The Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold a special board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.  The Board will discuss and consider the adoption of the employee handbook, and discuss future options to meet existing workload.

December 2

The Hiawatha Valley Marines will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday December 2, at the Winona Area Veterans Center. All Marines current and former, and Corpsmen who served with FMF are encouraged to attend. Agenda items will include a review of the USMC Birthday Dinner, Change of Command, finalization of the Toys for Tots Campaign, meeting format and duration.

 Young at Heart will meet Thursday, December 2, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for Mass at 12:10 p.m. followed by a catered meal of ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, mandarin orange salad, dessert and drink. Cost of the meal is only $3.00. After the meal there will be a program by the Flanagan Irish Dancers. Please call Marge Zittel at 454-3433 no latter than noon on November 30, for your reservation and if you need a ride. You do not need to be a parishioner to attend. All are welcome.

The members of Sequoia Society are invited to the home of Mara Repinski on Thursday, December 2, at 11:30 a.m. Following the meeting a Christmas luncheon will be held. Members will bring Christmas gifts for foster children. Plans will be finalized for helping several families at Christmas.

December 6

The Winona Widowed  Persons will meet December 6, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winona Senior Friendship Center for a catered dinner followed by entertainment. the cost is $10.00 and reservations are due by  November 30. Call  Gen at 452 8334 for more information. There will not be an executive board meeting in December. Breakfast will be each Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners will be every Thursday at the China King Buffet.

 

December 8

Harvest House will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, December 8, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant NOTE  CHANGE IN MEETING DATE. There will be a business meeting followed by bingo.  Bring a wrapped gift for bingo and a non-perishable food item for a needy family.  Also, remember to bring coupons for the military.  We will be served a catered Christmas dinner.  Cost is $9.50. Sign up sheets for “The Marvelous Wonderettes”  Plymouth Playhouse Jan. 26 and Explore Rochester Feb. 10.  Non-members are welcome on our trips.  For more information, call Mary Jane at 454-8488 or Mary Ann at 452-5587.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

TOPS MN #263 Winona- New members welcome. Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. Wednesdays. Weigh-in between 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Meeting/program 9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Callista Court, 1455 W. Broadway.

NAMI Connection:  A Mental Illness Support Group. We meet every Monday evening. A self-help group for people recovering from mental illness is a place to find acceptance, support and friendship. It meets every Monday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Timber’s Restaurant’s back dining room.  There is no fee, just walk in and join us.  For more information call facilitators Richard Iverson (507) 454-5472 or Judy McCormick (507) 459-3475.  Cosponsored by (NAMI) National Alliance on Mental Illness, Winona Affiliate and Project COMPASS.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona.
