January 9

The Rollingstone Luxembourg Heritage Museum members and the Luxembourg American Society will meet at 1 p.m. on January 9, at the center in the park. On the agenda are the Treipenfest of January 31, and other events coinciding with the attendance of the Luxembourg Ambassador to the U.S. J.P. Senninger and other dignitaries. January 10

The Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed monthly board meeting to be held January 10, at 7 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center.

CDA January meeting: January 10, 6:30 p.m. Holy Family Hall-Cathedral. Rosary, meeting. Will be discussing raffle and soup and pie luncheon along with the upcoming convention.

The Chautauqua Club will meet on Monday, January 10, at noon. at the Winona Historical Society. The hostess is Janis Vose, the co-hostess is Judy Rusert and the program will be presented by Enda Fitzmaurice.

The Ruskin Study Club will meet Monday, January 10, at the home of Susan Eddy.  A paper will be presented by Gayla Clemons. Pat Papenfuss will be co-hostess.   Members are reminded to call the hostess if unable to attend.


January 12

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

January 13

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will meet on Thursday, January 13, at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street. Bill Crozier will present the topic of “The Civil War Exploits of Winonan Captain Sam Whiting.”  All are invited and refreshments will be served.  Any questions, phone (507) 452-0568.

January 17

Winona Women’s Shrine Auxiliary will meet on January 17, at 11:30 a.m. at Westfield Golf Club.  Winter weather policy will be no meeting, if Winona  schools are closed.  Cards will be played.  Menu is baked chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, buttered baby carrots, tossed salad, roll and butter, pumpkin cheese cake for dessert.  Price $8.00.  For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.

January 18

Bundles of Love meeting January 18, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 265 Lafayette, Winona, 6:30-9:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to cut out infant clothing, quilts or knit or crochet. Community service groups are welcome to sign up for a meeting night. January 19

Harvest House, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, January 19, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza. as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  Our guest speaker will be Chief of Police Paul Bostrack to discuss the crime in Winona.  Bring a non-perishable food item for a needy family and your coupons for the military.  Lunch will be served.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona. Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. The next meeting will be Monday, December 13.  No fee just walk in and join us.  Enter the hospital’s main door, turn right, at the hallway take another right.  It’s the second door on the left. NAMI Connection Support Group for adults recovering from mental illness meets weekly in Winona. The group is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota. Trained facilitators who are also in recovery lead NAMI Connection groups. The group meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m., at Timbers Restaurant (back dining room), 3rd and Huff St.  For information contact Richard at 507-454-5472.
