The organizational meeting of the Hiawatha Valley Education District board of directors is scheduled for Wednesday, January 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Hiawatha Valley Education District, 1410 Bundy Blvd. Winona.
February 3
Young At Heart will meet Thursday, February 3, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for Mass at 12:10 p.m. followed by a catered meal of baked chicken, parsley baby potatoes, mixed vegetables, creamy fruit salad, roll, dessert and drink. Cost of the meal is only $3.00. After the meal there will be a presentation by humorist Vicki Snyder. Please call Marge at 454-3433 no latter than noon on February 1, for your reservation and if you need a ride. You do not need to be a parishioner to attend. All are welcome.
The Sequoia Society will meet on Thursday, February 3, at the home of Donna Daniels. Marlene Kohner will provide the program.
The Hiawatha Valley Marines will meet on Thursday, February 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the Winona Area American Legion. All Marines and Corpsmen who served with the Marines are encouraged to attend.
February 7
Winona Area Widowed Persons will meet February 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Winona Senior Friendship Center. There will be election of board members and officers, with entertainment and lunch to follow. Breakfast is every Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners will be at Perkins at 5:30 p.m. All widowed persons are welcome; any questions or more information call 452 8334.

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table jointly with the Winona County Historical Society will meet on Thursday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Winona History Center, 160 Johnson St., Winona. Mary Todd Lincoln (Mrs. Abraham Lincoln), as portrayed by Robin Heaney of New York, will be here to tell you her story. All are invited and refreshments will be served. Mental Illness: Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. NAMI Connection Support Group for adults recovering from mental illness meets weekly in Winona. The group is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota. Trained facilitators who are also in recovery lead NAMI Connection groups.
