•At 6:23 p.m. police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Highway 16 near Houston, Minn. A vehicle driven by Thomas T. Tschumper, 47, of Houston, Minn., was southbound on Sheidan Road, crossed Highway 16 and struck a tree, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Tschumper died as a result of his injuries. The State Patrol reported that roads were icy at the time of the collision.
•At 8:31 a.m. police responded to a pedestrian and vehicle accident on I-90 near mile post 254. A tow truck had just pulled a vehicle out of the ditch and the operator, Corie L. Maynard, 36, of Nelson, Wis., was struck by a 1999 Dodge Ram. The Dodge Ram was driven by Travis J. Rutt, 20, of Belle Plaine, Minn. He was not injured. According to the State Patrol, Maynard suffered non life threatening injuries.
