February 9

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

February 10

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table jointly with the Winona County Historical Society will meet on Thursday, February 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Winona History Center, 160 Johnson St., Winona. Mary Todd Lincoln (Mrs. Abraham Lincoln), as portrayed by Robin Heaney of New York, will be here to tell you her story.  All are invited and refreshments will be served.  Any questions, phone (507) 452-0568. 

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, February 10, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy 74, Altura.

February 12

The Minnesota City Historical Association will meet Saturday, February 12, at the Riverway Learning Community, 115 Iowa Street, Minnesota City.  The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public. The agenda includes updates on Bob Bambenek’s March 20 census presentation. February 14 

The Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed meeting will be held February 14, 7 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center.

The Chautauqua Club will meet on Monday, February 14, at noon at the home of Laura Eddy. Co-hostess will be Sue Wolfe and a program will be presented by Cindy Donahue.

February 16

Harvest House, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will meet Wednesday, February 16, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant. There will be a business meeting followed by a Valentine party with bingo.  Bring an unwrapped prize for bingo and a valentine to exchange.  Also remember to bring a non-perishable  food item for a needy family and coupons for the military.  Lunch will be served.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona. Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. The next meeting will be Monday, December 13.  No fee just walk in and join us.  Enter the hospital’s main door, turn right, at the hallway take another right.  It’s the second door on the left.
