March 10

Please take notice that the Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, March 10, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy 74, Altura.

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will meet on Thursday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson St., Winona. This month our meeting will center on the Second World War.  David Klein will be giving accounts of the experiences of many local WW II veterans during the Conflict.  All are invited and refreshments will be served.  Any questions call (507) 452-0568.

March 12

The Minnesota City Historical Association will meet Saturday, March  12, at the Riverway Learning Community, 115 Iowa Street, Minnesota City.  The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public. The agenda includes updates on Bob Bambenek’s March 20 census presentation and items for Minnesota City Day which will beheld on Saturday, May 21. March 14

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

The March 14, monthly board meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District will be held at 7 p.m. at the Stockton community center, 600 D Street, Stockton.

The Catholic Daughters of the  Americas will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Cathedral for Stations of the Cross. Meeting to follow.  Bring items for Easter basket and book basket for convention.  Raffle and the Soup and Pie Luncheon discussed.  Remember the pill bottle campaign.

The Ruskin Study  Club will meet Monday, March 14, at the home of Mary Wieczorek.   Ann Gibson will present her paper.  In memory of our treasured member, Sue Cornwell, a book will be donated to the Winona Public Library.  Members are reminded to inform the hostess if unable to attend.

March 15

Bundles of Love meeting, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 265 Lafayette, Winona, 6:30-9:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to cut out infant clothing, quilts or knit or crochet. Community service groups are welcome to sign up for a meeting night. March 16

Harvest House will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, March 16, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  The guest speaker will be Jade Fang who will speak on acupuncture.  Wear green for St. Patrick’s Day.  Bring a non-perishable food item for a needy family.  Lunch will be served. Sign up sheets for Explore Inver Grove Heights April 29, Chanhassen “Jesus Christ Superstar,” May 11 and Mystery Trip, June 21. March 21

Winona Women’s Shine Auxiliary will meet on March 21, at 11:30 a.m. at Westfield Golf Club. Winter weather policy will be no meeting if Winona schools are closed. Cards will be played.  Menu is pork chop, augraten potatoes, glazed carrots, roll and butter, tossed salad, and lemon poppy seed cake.  Price $8.00.  For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona. Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. The next meeting will be Monday, December 13.  No fee just walk in and join us.  Enter the hospital’s main door, turn right, at the hallway take another right.  It’s the second door on the left.
