April 4

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, at the Ag Service Center, 400 Wilson Street, Lewiston.  This meeting is to discuss options for County/SWCD collaborations and to discuss the 2011 Budget.

 

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Personnel Committee will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, at the Ag Service Center, 400 Wilson Street Lewiston to review staffing needs and personnel reviews.

The Widowed Persons will meet Monday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at the Winona Senior Friendship Center. There will be a brief business meeting followed by a “Sharing Memories” time. Please  share a special event or time in your life, or maybe a special story or joke. Lunch will follow.  The Executive Board will meet Tuesday, April 19, at 9 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Breakfast will be each Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners in April will be on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. at the Ground Round. For more information call 452 8334

 

April 7

The April meeting of the Sequoia Society will take place Thursday, April 7, at Wanek Hall at the Winona County Historical Society.  We will gather at 12:15 p.m., with the meeting beginning at 12:30 p.m.  Marlene Mulrooney’s program will feature local photographer Kay Shaw, who will show her photographs of India.  Kathy Turner is the hostess. 

The Hiawatha Valley Marines will meet 7:00 p.m. on Thursday 7 April 11 at the Winona Area Veterans Center. All Marines and Corpsmen who served with the USMC are encouraged to attend. Agenda Items will include; involvement with the Boy Scouts, status of flag day donation efforts in support of the Winona Veterans Memorial Park, structure and procedures for HVM’s parade units, and rib dinner fund raiser planned for Sept. 24.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona. Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. No fee just walk in and join us.  Enter the hospital’s main door, turn right, at the hallway take another right.  It’s the second door on the left.
