The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will meet Thursday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson St., Winona. Donna Buckbee will introduce us to Thomas Higginson, a prominent Boston abolitionist who formed and was colonel of the First South Carolina Volunteers; composed of African-American volunteers.
