July 11

Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room. The next meeting is July 11. No fee just walk in and join us.  Enter the hospital’s main door, turn right, at the hallway take another right.  It’s the second door on the left. July 12

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Budget Committee will hold a working meeting for discussion and review of the 2012 Draft Budget on Tuesday, July 12, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston. 

 

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Personnel Committee will hold a working meeting for discussion and review of current open job positions Tuesday, July 12, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston. 

The Winona Flower and Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, July 12, at 6:30 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 210 East 4th Street, Winona. Jack Florin, who has won many Garden Club ribbons for his beautiful iris blooms, will be speaking.  We hope to see everyone there!

July 13

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

July 14

July 14, 6:30 p.m. at the Houston Nature Center, Houston, Minn., Natural Living Group meeting - Raising Backyard Chickens.  Contact Tricia 896-4752.

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, July 14, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy 74, Altura. (In the event the state parks are closed due to a State of Minnesota shut down, the location of the meeting will be held at the St. Charles Community Center located at 830 Whitewater Avenue, St. Charles).

July 18

Winona Women’s Shrine Auxiliary will meet on July 18, at 11:30 a.m.  at Westfield Golf Club.  Menu is chicken salad on a croissant with tomato wedges and lemon poppy seed cake.  Price is $8.00.  Cards will be played  For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.

 

Widowed Person Service. There will be no regular monthly meeting in July. We meet at the Country Kitchen for breakfast every Tuesday at 8 a.m. The executive board will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, following breakfast. Dinners will be at Perkins every Thursday, at 5:30 p.m. except on the 21st, when we will go to Sullivans Supper Club, in Trempealeau, Wis. Special noon lunch is on Wednesday, July 27, at noon at the Golden Frog in Fountain City. Please call Gen at 507- 452-8334  for carpooling information, no later then early morning on the day of the event.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church). Many have found a solution.

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

If you’re hurting after a divorce, you need the Rebuilding Program, open to men and women, not affiliated with any church or religious group. The group meets the first and third Sunday of every month from 6-8 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 259 West Wabasha Street, Winona. A NAMI Connection free peer support group for adults recovering from mental illness meets weekly in Winona. The group is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota. Trained facilitators who are also in recovery lead NAMI Connection groups. The group meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m., at the Peer Support Network (PSN) building, 122 W. 2nd.  For information contact Richard at 507-454-5472. Addicted?  Be Set Free!  Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors.  New members are welcome any time.  We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W.
