Winona Women’s Shrine Auxiliary will meet on July 18, at 11:30 a.m. at Westfield Golf Club. Menu is chicken salad on a croissant with tomato wedges and lemon poppy seed cake. Price is $8.00. Cards will be played For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.
July 25
Winona Area Retired Educators Association (WAREA) will hold their annual July picnic on Monday, July 25, at 12 noon at Faith Lutheran Church, 1717 Service Drive. Superintendent Scott Hannon and Mayor Jerry Miller are the featured speakers. Luncheon cost is $7.25 a meal with reservations required by July 18. Members, spouses, and guests are welcome. Widowed Person Service. There will be no regular monthly meeting in July. We meet at the Country Kitchen for breakfast every Tuesday at 8 a.m. The executive board will meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, following breakfast. Dinners will be at Perkins every Thursday, at 5:30 p.m. except on the 21st, when we will go to Sullivans Supper Club, in Trempealeau, Wis. Special noon lunch is on Wednesday, July 27, at noon at the Golden Frog in Fountain City. A NAMI Connection free peer support group for adults recovering from mental illness meets weekly in Winona. The group is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota. Trained facilitators who are also in recovery lead NAMI Connection groups. The group meets Mondays at 7:00 p.m., at the Peer Support Network (PSN) building, 122 W. 2nd.
