Everyone bound for heaven? (07/24/2011)
From: David Foss

Galesville, Wis.

Did God’s Son, Jesus Christ, take away all the sin of the world? Absolutely. Did Jesus Christ willingly die to save all of mankind? Absolutely. According to God’s Word, does God promise that everyone is going to spend eternity in heaven? He does not make such a promise.

Any wolf in sheep’s clothing can easily pick a verse from Scripture, misinterpret and then lead people astray. One such verse is John 1:29B “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Of course this is true, but then God has an essential precondition to eternal life in heaven. His plan of salvation, His only way. We must do as His Word commands, only then does God promise us an eternal home in heaven.

Jesus Christ even died for all the evil, barbaric, sadistic butchers of the world. His shed blood has covered the sin of everyone. 1 John 1:7

Does God ever say that all of mankind will get saved? Will accept Him and His plan for salvation? Will accept His way? Will become born again? John 3:3-7, I Peter 1:23, I John 3:9, 5:18 As God says in Isaiah 45:22 “Look unto me and be ye saved,” all the ends of the earth. Why would God’s Word profoundly expound on His plan of salvation if there were no hell? We might ask ourselves, saved from what?

Yes, God says that we must be born again! If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and turn from our wicked ways, then God will send His Holy Spirit to live within us. I Corinthians 3:16, Romans 8:9 We will become a new creature (a new person). II Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 4:23-24

If everyone goes to heaven, why does God judge after death? II Corinthians 5:10 If everyone goes to heaven, why is there joy in heaven over one sinner who repents? Luke 15:17 If everyone goes to heaven, why did Jesus say “I tell you nay, but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3

Should a parent reward a disobedient child who is never repentant? Who shamelessly and stubbornly rejects and abhors authority? Who willingly and knowingly chooses to do evil? Absolutely not! Neither will our righteous and just Lord and Savior reward an unrepentant sinner with an eternal dwelling place in heaven.

Sadly, everyone is not bound for heaven. If we are sent to hell it is because of our personal choice. We have rejected our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Here is another probable verse that a deceiver of God’s Word might use: I Timothy 4:10

Ponder Matthew 7:21
