We become what we eat. I suppose that makes some sense, especially if we are somewhat aware of good and right for our bodies and what is harmful, we can expect the food to react accordingly, either in good health or sickness. Don’t our souls respond in a similar way? We prepare and pray for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, especially love, peace and patience to name a few. Once we receive them it’s our job to use them, work them into our lives. Whether we realize it or not we are on life’s stage and the whole world is watching. Start a good trend that others will follow, especially those close to you - children, friends, etc. Be that person God created you to be. Evangelist and writer Joyce Meyer says do what you can and God will do the rest, but we must try our hardest.
I’ve heard it said no prayer is left unsaid, angels will finish what we don’t.
Technology makes sure we have access to one gadget or another that can fill our minds and chances are you aren’t tuned in to a Christian program that would have the potential to lift your mind and heart to God, the One who has your very best interest at heart.
Believe me our ways are not always God’s ways. I say, just yield and stop resisting. The truth is sometimes we think God gets in our way of happiness so we say excuse me and break whatever commandment that seems to be standing in our way. Our hearts are restless until they find and follow Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. Then we will have a good life and be all we can be, what we were created for, then we will no longer try to put our will in front of God’s will for our lives.
Yes, we are one body in Christ and our love and concern must reach to the ends of the world. If only we could get war out of our heads, replace it with thoughts of peace - “peace be with you,” Jesus said.
“Be not afraid.” Let’s copy Blessed John Paul II on that one.
If we know God as our personal Savior we will then have peace and there will be no cause for fear. Then to top that off we will have become all God intended us to be. “Mission accomplished,” He will say. “Come into my kingdom - peace.”
