ĽAt 11:11 a.m. police received a call from Saint Anne Hospice reporting money stolen from a purse. A 50-year-old woman told police $350 in cash had been stolen from her purse, which had been hanging on the door of her office.
ĽAt 8:15 p.m. police responded to the 300 block of East Ninth Street on a report of a man lying in the road. Shane John Swanke-Midrum, 19, of Winona, was cited for underaged consumption of alcohol.
Thursday, August 4
ĽAt 1:53 a.m. police were called to the 600 block of East 10th Street on a report of an intoxicated person sitting on the sidewalk. Police cited Justin Dean Armstrong, 18, of Winona, for underaged consumption of alcohol, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
ĽAt 11:30 p.m. police stopped a vehicle at Main and Sarnia streets because it had a brake light out. A 16-year-old Winona boy was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and curfew violation. A second 16-year-old Winona boy was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and curfew violation. Another 16-year-old Winona boy was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and curfew violation. A 17-year-old Winona boy was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and curfew violation.
Sunday, July 31
ĽAt 8:50 p.m. police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Jacob Lane near Altura. Police said a woman there told them Paul Kim Georgeson, 53, of Altura, had argued with her, punched holes in doors and damaged furniture in the home. Police later arrested him on potential charges of domestic assault causing fear.
Monday, August 1
ĽAt 8:48 a.m. police received a call from Frank Kaehler of rural St. Charles reporting the loss of several cows. Three shorthorn heifer yearlings, one red, one white and one roan, all with yellow ear tags, had been missing since Thursday.
ĽAt 5:50 p.m. police responded to a report from the Sundown Motel of a male who had violated a domestic assault no contact order by sending a text message and staying with the woman with the order against him. Police said Joseph James Roberts, 34, of Winona, admitted to visiting the woman and was arrested for violating the order.
Friday, August 5
ĽAt 2:15 a.m. police stopped a vehicle at Highway 61 and Vila Street after observing it cross the center line. The driver, Carl Eric Johnson, 59, of Sarasota, Fla., allegedly showed signs of intoxication and was cited for driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content measured at .12 percent, open bottle of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nicholas Lawrence Joseph Donnelly, 22, of Winona, was charged this week with third degree assault causing substantial bodily harm. According to the criminal complaint, Donnelly punched a man in the face on April 17 at Third and Market streets, breaking his jaw in two places. Donnelly is expected to appear in court on September 15.
