All programs are free, thanks to the Friends of Perrot State Park. A motor-vehicle sticker is required for all vehicles stopping in the park.
Saturday, August 13
10:00am: The Giving Tree
Trees are one of our most valuable assets! Join Andrea for a reading of this classic story and an introduction to some of the trees in the park. Take home a leaf-rubbing ID book for future reference!
2:00pm: Lifestyles of the Pre-Historic
Join Connie Arzigian, from the Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center, for a look at the early people who once lived in our park.
7:30pm: Sunset Over the Bay
Join Andrea ON THE OBSERVATION DECK for the best sunset in the park! A variety of ID books will be available as well as some natural history material from the area. As the sun sets, the bay comes alive with critters and the colors of evening.
Saturday, August 20
10:00am: Prairie Power
The remnant prairie outside the Nature Center is a treasure to behold! August finds the grasses in full glory and the late summer flowers valiantly hanging on. Come explore this endangered habitat at its crescendo!
2:00pm: Rolling to the Refuge
Hop on your bike and join Andrea for a free ride on the Great River State Trail. No trail passes are necessary for this short leisurely ride to the National Wildlife Refuge.
7:30pm: Glorious Night Hike
Explore the woods at night as we walk to and along Wilber’s Trail. The hike is approximately 2½ miles and fairly level. Flashlights are recommended for the walk back to the campground, but will not be needed during the hike.
