The Hiawatha Valley Audubon Society Bird Club of Winona will hold it’s regular monthly meeting at the Senior Friendship Center, 251 Main Street in Winona on Wednesday October 5, at 7:00 p.m. This months featured presentation will be by Scott Lee, from Trempealeau, on his recent trip to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador. The program is free and open to the public. Hiawatha Valley Audubon Society welcomes all bird watching enthusiasts of all skill levels as it has done for the past 50 years.
The Hiawatha Valley Marines will hold their monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday 6 October at the Winona Area Veteran’s Center. All members, former Marines, and Corpsmen who served with the USMC are urged to attend. Items to be discussed will include the MIssion of the HVM, details for the Birthday Dinner on 10 NOV 11, Toys for Tots, and the invitation to significant others to become active in the HVMs.
Cathedral’s Young At Heart group will meet on October 6, starting with a 12:10 p.m. Mass for those who wish to attend. It will be followed by a lunch at 12:45 p.m. of stroganoff over noodles, lettuce salad with dressing on the side, creamy mandarin orange salad, roll, apple bars and beverage. The cost of the meal is $3.00. After lunch we will hear about senior eye care and concerns from parishioner Dr Laurel Quinn. Reservations are a MUST and NONE WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE.
