October 17

The Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet October 17, at Westfield. The menu will be beef tips over noodles, green beans, salad and dessert. Collection of 2012 dues will be held this month. For reservations call Connie Wood at 454-1781.

October 19

Harvest House, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, October 19, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus Hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  Our guest speaker is Mayor Jerry Miller with a presentation on the City of Winona.  Bring a nonperishable food item for a needy family and coupons for the military.  Lunch will be served. There will be a sign up sheet for Chanhassen “Plaid Tidings” December 14, deadline November 7. October 20

Minnesota City Community Readers will meet Thursday, October 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Riverway Learning Community, 115 Iowa Street, Minnesota City.   The book being discussed is Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.  All readers are invited to the discussion whether or not they have read the book.

October 24 

The special meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District will be held Monday, October 24, at 8 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center.

October 26

The regular monthly meeting of the Hiawatha Valley Education District Board of Directors is scheduled for Wednesday, October 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room at the Hiawatha Valley Education District, 1401 Bundy Blvd, Winona.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. Winona Widowed Persons Service-No monthly meeting in October. Breakfast remains at the Country  Kitchen every Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. The evening meals will be 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays at Timbers. There will be a noon lunch on October 19, at Ginny’s in Rollingstone. Carpooling will be from the Penney’s parking lot at 11:05 a.m. leaving at 11:15 a.m. For more information call 452-8334.
