November 9

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

November 10

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, November 10, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy 74, Altura.

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will hold its next meeting on Thursday, November 10, at 7:00 p.m., on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160  Johnson Street, Winona. The topic for the presentation this evening is “Equipment of the U. S. Civil War Cavalry,” as presented by John Arndt.  He will also show some examples of this equipment.  All are invited and refreshments will be served.

November 14

The November meeting of the Chautauqua Club will be held on Monday, November 14, at noon.  The meeting will be hosted by Judy Rusert, co-hosted by Linda Olson, with a program presented by Pat Malotka. Members who can not attend are encouraged to let the hostess know.

The Catholic Daughters of the  Americas will meet on November 14, for 5:15 p.m. Mass for departed members of the    Catholic Daughters.  A potluck dinner to follow.  Please bring a dish to pass and your table service.  Meeting will follow with a Ditty Bag report.

The Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District meeting will be held November 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center.

November 15

Bundles of Love meeting, November 15, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church 265 Lafayette, Winona, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed to cut out infant clothing, quilts or knit or crochet. Community service groups are welcome to sign up for a meeting night. November 16

Harvest House will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, November 16, at 1:30 in St. Stanislaus Hall. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  Our guest speaker is Donna Peterson to talk on the Underground Railroad.   Bring a nonperishable food item for a needy family and coupons for the military.  Lunch will be served. There will be sign up sheets for Christmas dinner December 21, North Heights “All Things New” March 31, and Fanny Hill “Fox on the Fairway” April 19. Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850.

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. Winona Area Widowed Persons Service-No meeting in November, but there will be a Christmas dinner on December 5, at 5 p.m.  at the Winona Friendship Center. Breakfast will be Tuesday mornings at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. November dinners will be at Jeffersons  on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. There will be a board meeting November 15,  at 9 a.m. at  the Country Kitchen. Call 452 8334 for more information.

 

The Winona Apron Group will not be meeting this month or December, but will still be accepting aprons for our December apron sale to be held at the Winona Senior Friendship Center, December 3, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Donated apron sales will be going to the Winona Volunteer Services Food Shelf. Any apron pattern or design will be welcomed in good to excellent condition in useable/resalable condition and can be dropped off at Magnolias, 177 Lafayette Street, Downtown Winona or by contacting Sandy Erdman at sandyssweetnothings@yahoo.com. The next meeting will be in January, 12t
