November 29

The Lois Club will meet Tuesday, November 29, at 12:30 p.m. at the Country Kitchen.

The Winona Area Genealogy Roundtable will meet on Saturday, November 29, at 9:30 a.m., in the enclosed east meeting room.  Bring your search problems and finds. Members and fellow searchers are welcome.

The Winona Area Crime Stoppers Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, November 29, in the Wenonah Room at the City Hall in Winona.  Please note the change of time and location.  The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. and is open to the public.

December 1

The Hiawatha Valley Marines will meet at 1900 on Thursday 1 December at the Winona Area Veterans Center. The agenda includes finalization of activities in support of the Tots for Tots campaign, review of the Birthday Dinner and discussion of planned activities for 2012. All Marines and Corpsmen who served with the USMC are urged to attend.

The Minnesota First Baptist Church Ladies Aid will meet Thursday, December 1, at 1 p.m. at the Sterling House.

December 5

The last Christmas Party for the Winona Area Widowed Persons  Service will be December 5, at 5 p.m. at the Winona Senior Friendship Center. It will be a potluck. Bring a dish to share and your own tableware, beverage will be provided. We will play bingo with cash prizes. The breakfast group will continue to meet each Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. The dinner group will meet in December at 5:30 p.m. at the China King Buffet. For any or more information call 452 8334.

December 8

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, December 8, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy 74, Altura.

December 12

The monthly board meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District will be held December 12, at 7 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center.

December 14

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850.

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.  A family support group meets in Winona at 7:00 p.m., on the second Monday of the month, at Winona Health, in the Parkview conference room, 855 Mankato Ave. For information, call Helen at 507-494-0905.
