The Hiawatha Valley Marines will meet at 1900 on Thursday 1 December at the Winona Area Veterans Center. The agenda includes finalization of activities in support of the Tots for Tots campaign, review of the Birthday Dinner and discussion of planned activities for 2012. Cathedral’s Young At Heart group will meet on December 1, starting with a 12:10 p.m. Mass for those who wish to attend. It will be followed by a lunch at 12:45 p.m. of ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, Watergate salad with chopped nuts, roll and Christmas tree ice cream with a beverage. The last Christmas Party for the Winona Area Widowed Persons Service will be December 5, at 5 p.m. at the Winona Senior Friendship Center. It will be a potluck. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.
