How many times have we read somebody’s letter to the editor and thought where did they get that from? How many times have we felt that it wasn’t worth the time and effort to respond to some nonsensical letter, because most people get upset if we respond with the truth or that which does make sense. How soon before the lack of common sense produces a nation where normalcy is erroneous and erroneousness is normal?
We can be assured that when we allow judges, newspaper columnists, textbook editors, political correctness, etc. to rewrite history, that our country will soon be going down the path of moral declination. Truth has become no longer black and white, but relative. If we hear something on the radio or television, doesn’t it have to be the absolute truth? Not today. We no longer can expect the truth in our society because it might offend someone.
A review of our country’s history from historical documents, not the opinions of subverters of truth, proves that America has survived over two centuries by adhering to a moral compass which always pointed toward our Creator and the blessings He has shown us if we put Him above all else.
Can anyone tell us what good has come to America since prayer and God have been taken from our children’s education? Since self gratification has become our banner. If it feels good, experience it. Don’t worry about the consequences. Where is the betterment in America because of such an attitude? How can we explain to our children that we believe in the Ten Commandments, but we must hide them from public view? How can we excuse a clear mistake in judgment, reproductive rights? How can we defend a woman’s right (?) to put to death a defenseless baby?
Hopefully we will one day realize that God created us to be husband and wife, rearing God-fearing children who honor and respect their parents and all others. If we cast God out of our lives and the lives of our children, how can we expect to ever live in a better America?
How can we change America for the better? Get involved. Call or write to our governmental leaders. Tell them you want truth in government. Read the Constitution! Read the Declaration of Independence! Find out what our founding fathers knew: Thomas Jefferson wrote, “God who gave us life, gave us liberty.” And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever. Godlessness is better for America?
