Now’s the time for tax abatement proposal (01/22/2012)
From: Robert Collins

The tax abatement story in the latest Post describing how PlastiComp would get $424,000 of taxes forgiven so it could expand with a promise to add a couple new jobs is too good an idea to be limited to PlastiComp only. Why not expand it? We locals as well as our city would be the better for it.

My own proposal is to use my 10 year tax forgiveness to add a second bath. All the work and supplies would come from local firms; in addition I’d pledge all my living and entertainment money to go into our local economy. Finally, my improved home would mean increased taxes to the city and county.

Mine alone is not on a PlastiComp level but if 25 or 50 of us would take advantage of this idea, together we could lift our local economy to the skies. Get your proposal in.
