February 2

Cathedral’s Young At Heart group will meet on February 2, starting with a 12:10 p.m. Mass for those who wish to attend. It will be followed by a lunch at 12:45 p.m. of baked chicken, warm German potato salad, peas and carrots, creamy fruit salad, cherry crisp and beverage. The cost of the meal is $3.00. After lunch we will be entertained by the Winona Harmonica Ensemble. RESERVATIONS are a MUST and NONE WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DEADLINE, January 30. Please call Marge at 454-3433 no later than January 30 for reservations and if you need a ride. All are welcome.

The Minnesota City First Baptist Ladies Aid will be held February 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Gladys Volkart.

February 8

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

February 9

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, February 9, at 8:30 a.m. in the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Hwy. 74, Altura.

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will hold its next meeting on Thursday, February 9, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona. Naval warfare will be the area for this evening and Tom Ostrom of Rochester, will give a presentation on one of the most successful Confederate commerce raiders, “CSS Shenandoah.”  All are invited to this interesting Presentation, and refreshments will be served.   Any questions, phone (507) 452-0568.

February 13

The February 13, monthly board meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City, Watershed District will be held at 7 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center, 600 D St. Stockton.

The Chautauqua Club will meet Monday, February 13, at noon.  Karen Littlejohn is the hostess and the program will be presented by Katherine Gilmer.  Members are encouraged to contact the hostess if they are unable to attend.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, February  13, at the  Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.  They will celebrate the 99th anniversary of Court Winona #191, nominate a committee to select officers, distribute raffle books, and have a Hearts and Flowers Party following the meeting.

February 15

Harvest House, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, February 15, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting followed by our Valentine Party.  Bring an unwrapped gift for bingo and a nonperishable food item for a needy family.  Lunch will be served. Sign up sheets for Easter Play in Arden Hills “All Things New” March 31 and Fanny Hill “Fox on the Fairway” April 19.  Nonmembers are welcome on our trips.  For more information, call Mary Jane at 454-8488 or Mary Ann at 452-5587.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850.

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.  A family support group meets in Winona at 7:00 p.m., on the second Monday of the month, at Winona Health, in the Parkview conference room, 855 Mankato Ave. For information, call Helen at 507-494-0905.
