Adult softball umpires needed (02/15/2012)
|
|
The Winona Park & Recreation Department is in need of MSF certified Adult Softball Umpires to work our adult softball games. We anticipate our leagues beginning the first week in May ending in mid to late August. You must be MSF Certified to work any of our league games! To receive certification information you must contact the Minnesota Sports Federation (MSF) office at 1-763-263-9993, or www.msf1.org, and they will send you the necessary information. You must attend a mandatory rules interpretation meeting; this MSF Umpire Certification Clinic has been set for Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall – Council Chambers here in Winona. We will have our local umpire’s meeting prior to the certification clinic from 6-7:15 p.m. to discuss the local rules and expectations plus discuss league assignments. If you are interested in working our adult softball leagues, please stop in at the Park & Rec. office in City Hall to pick up a job application as soon as possible or call our office at 457-8258 and we will send you the forms. Officials will receive $18.10 per game and will usually have 2 games per night, except Sundays you will probably have 3 games. Our goal this year also is to have all umpires CPR/First Aid certified. Certification information is included in the job application letter; applications located on our website at www.cityofwinona-mn.com.
