Ron and Elissa Merritt went to Costa Rica on vacation. Ron is the brother of Winonan Nikki Casey. Elissa was forced off the road on her rental ATV, and fell off a 75 foot cliff, breaking both arms and her leg. She has had two surgeries, and is not yet cleared to fly because of breathing problems. But she will not be able to stay in the hospital unless they are able to pay the $20,000 bill. The benefit will enable Elissa and Ron to settle their bills in Costa Rica and return by air ambulance to the U.S. where her medical treatment will continue.
