The Cotter High School Music Department presents a
Choir Spring Concert on Thursday, March 8th, 2012 at 7:30 PM in the St. Cecilia Theatre. Performing groups will include the Cotter High School Concert Choir, Cotter Junior High School Choir, and Cotter High School Show Choir.
Some of the Cotter High School Concert Choir selections will include “William Tell Overture”, “Tshotshotloza”, a South African freedom song, “Danny Boy” and others. The Concert Choir selections are considered more of a ‘contest type’ genre. The Cotter Choir will participate in the Sub-Section Large Group Music Contest on Tuesday, March 13th at Lake City High School.
The Cotter Show Choir will also perform at the Spring Concert. Their selections are more popular and contemporary in nature, and will include a “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat medley ”, and “Someone Like You” written by Adele.
The Junior High School Choir will sing several selections as well. They include “Witness”, a popular spiritual, “How Can I Keep From Singing”, and “From A Distance”.
The Cotter Choirs are under the direction of Cathy Snyder. Mark Roeckers Ian will accompany the High School Choirs on piano, Ian Schultz will accompany the Jr. High Choir. Katherine Gilmer is the Show Choir choreographer. The concert is free and open to the public.
