Meetings (03/11/2012)
March 12

The monthly board meeting for the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City, Watershed District will be held on March 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center, 600 D street, Stockton.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart on March 12, at 4:30 p.m. to prepare for the Soup and Salad Luncheon.  A pizza party and meeting will follow.  Please bring your paid and unpaid raffle tickets and meal tickets, and donations for The Food Shelf.

The Ruskin Study Club will meet Monday, March 12, at the home of Jeanine Black.  Kathy Seifert  will serve as co-hostess.  Pat Papenfuss will present her paper.  Members are reminded to  call the hostess if unable to attend.

The Relay for Life of Winona County committee will be meeting on Monday, March 12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Jefferson’s in the upstairs meeting room.  Any community member is welcome to attend.  For more information on volunteer opportunities please contact Stephanie Hemker by phone 507-474-0256 or by email shemker@thern.com.

March 14

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at the Ag Service Center in Lewiston.

The Learning Club will meet Wednesday, March 14, at Winona County History Center at 10:00 a.m. Poverty In Winona.  Sandra Burke, Executive Director of Winona Volunteer Services, will give a clearer picture of what it means to be poor in Winona and the effects of the recession in our community.

March 19

The Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at the Westfield Golf Course on March 19, at 11:30 a.m. The menu will be salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, rolls, salad, and cherry cheesecake.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

TOPS MN #263 Winona- New members welcome. Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. Wednesdays. Weigh-in between 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. Meeting/program 9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. Callista Court, 1455 W. Broadway.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850. 

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families who have a relative with a mental illness.  Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences.  A family support group meets in Winona at 7:00 p.m., on the second Monday of the month, at Winona Health, in the Parkview conference room, 855 Mankato Ave. For information, call Helen at 507-494-0905.

Widowed Meet and Eat meets on Mondays at 11 a.m., at Perkins. Please call 452-1555, for information and reservations.

The Widowed Persons Social Group meets for breakfast every Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners every Thursday at 5:30 p.m.-February at Culvers, March at Timbers, April at Perkins. All widowed people welcome. For information or if a ride is needed call Gen at 507-452-8334
