At 10:30 p.m. deputies arrested Keith Larsen, 55, of Houston, Minn., for fourth degree driving while intoxicated after a witness reported he was making wide turns and crossing the centerline on Hwy. 61. Test results showed Larsen had a blood alcohol content of .08 percent.
Tuesday, March 6
At 7:38 p.m. police ticketed Travis Michael Jacobson, 22, with criminal property damage after he kicked the door of a squad car creating about $215 worth of damage.
Wednesday, March 7
At 8:37 a.m. police responded to a report that solar lights were stolen from a yard on the 700 block of West Fourth Street. It was also reported that a luggage bag full of toys, a dart case, a case and a half of Michelob Golden and a case of Michelob Golden Light were stolen from the complainant’s vehicle of the course of the last three weeks.
At 1:05 p.m. police responded to a report of a purse that was stolen from Jefferson’s reception hall. Inside the purse was $40 cash, an identification card, a debit card and a cell phone.
Thursday, March 8
At 12:19 a.m. police ticketed Brock Summers Norwood, 21, of Lawrence, Kan., for urinating and public and fleeing on foot after officers observed him urinating at Third and Center Streets.
At 11:37 p.m. police arrested Rocky Michael Moyer, 26, of Winona, for second degree driving while intoxicated after officers stopped him for erratic driving near Hwy. 61 and Orrin Street. Test results showed Moyer had a blood alcohol content of .26 percent.
At 11:56 p.m. police arrested Collin John Nordby, 23, of Winona, after a witness reported he was swerving and failed to slow down for a speed limit change on Hwy. 61. Nordby proceeded to repeatedly cross the median and drive into oncoming traffic. Nordby was brought to a stop after he hit a parked car and a retaining wall in the McDonald’s parking lot. Test results showed Nordby had a blood alcohol content of .22 percent. He was referred to the Winona County Attorney’s office for third degree driving while intoxicated.
At 1:11 a.m. police ticketed Lauren Emma Louise McLean, 20, of Winona, for minor consumption after the vehicle she was riding in was stopped for driving without headlights near Third and Center Streets.
At 12:35 p.m. a burglary was reported at Winona Sports Unlimited located at 217 East Third St. It was reported that the shop was locked up around 7 p.m. the evening before. During the night someone had cut a hole in the window of the door of the store with a power saw, allowing them to reach in and open the door. About $825 worth of professional sports team’s jerseys were stolen as well as roughly $200 in cash, an iPhone, an iPad and a Blackberry cell phone.
At 8:30 p.m. police responded to a report that Robert Ralph Neyers, 58, of Winona, and Jennifer Lee Barness, 47, of Winona, were arguing at Timber’s Restaurant located at the intersection of Third and Huff Streets. When police arrived, they discovered that there was a do not contact order between Neyers and Barness. Neyers was referred to the Winona County Attorney’s office for violation of a do not contact order and Barness was ticketed for obstructing the legal process and trespassing after she gave the officer a false name and refused to leave the restaurant. Barness was transported to Winona Health for detox.
Friday, March 9
At 2:16 a.m. police ticketed Tyler Cheyne Sherry, 20, of Houston, Minn., for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after he was stopped for driving without a license near the intersection of Hwy. 61 and Huff Street.
