Buffalo County Fire Association member departments of Alma, Arcadia, Dodge, Durand, Fountain City, Mondovi, Nelson, Tri-Community and Waumandee wish to advise the public of a burning ban in Buffalo County that is immediately in effect. No authorization to burn outdoors at this time is being issued due to the extremely dry conditions.
At the current time the Fire Association of Buffalo County along with the sheriff’s office requests the public’s compliance during this ban. The ban will be in effect until an ample amount of rain may fall to improve the dry conditions. Numerous uncontrolled fires have occurred this past week due to the conditions.
Any suspicious fire activity should be immediately reported to your local fire department by calling 911. The public’s assistance in this request is strongly encouraged because of the dry conditions. Report any suspicious fire activity to the sheriff’s office at 608-685-4433 or dial 911 in an emergency.
