Read the Bible and rejoice! (04/08/2012)
From: David Foss

Galesville, Wis.

How many of us would read a doctor’s book on “How to Double One’s Span of Life?” Probably nearly everyone. Well, there is one book, the Bible, that can promise us eternal life yet most of us are not reading God’s personal letter to us.

Two reasons why people are not reading the Bible are cults and pagan religions, whose members have little or no knowledge of Scripture. The uninspired words of men have been drilled and ingrained into the minds of members who attend churches that are deceiving them. Even so, there is a very easy solution to this most serious situation. These deceived individuals just need to read their personal letter from God - the Bible.

If every member of a cult or pagan religion would read the Bible, they would soon realize the deception of their so-called churches. But they have been instructed to never accept anything that isn’t approved by their leaders, especially the Bible. These leaders realize that parishioners would be leaving these so-called churches in droves if they would read the Bible. Regrettably, falsehood has been deeply ingrained into these individuals’ minds for many years. Revelation 1:3 Isaiah 34:16 Proverbs 2:1-5; 3:13-15

Why are there so many cults and pagan religions in the world? Because these individuals have no knowledge of God’s word. These are individuals who may be required to read, accept and believe any number of man’s words, but the inspired word of God is forbidden.

How can we eradicate the control that these cults and pagan religions have on the majority of churchgoers? How can we convince those who have been indoctrinated and brainwashed with deception, those who are assuredly doomed to a most horrible place for eternity, to flee before it is too late? II Corinthians 6:2 We can be a prayer warrior, a witness, a warner. James 5:16b Acts 22:15 Proverbs 14:25 Titus 1:13-15

Here is an example. There are ten churches in one town and each pastor preaches and teaches a different way in which we can receive eternal life. According to God’s word there is only one way to receive eternal life. John 14:6 If there are ten different messages there are only two possibilities: all ten churches are preaching and teaching falsehood or only one church is preaching and teaching the truth of Scripture. Therefore it is of utmost importance that every member of every church search the Scriptures to find out if he or she is being fed with falsehood. Why? Where we spend eternity is at stake. Acts 17:11 We must never assume that our church is telling us the truth of Scripture. I John 4:1-6 II John 7 Churchgoers in the vast majority of churches are not aware of the fact that they are being deceived and that this deception will result in their having to spend eternity in a most horrible place.

If what we were told as toddlers to adulthood were lies, then these words will remain lies forever. Now why does God say this? Wide is the gate that leads to destruction (eternity in hell) and narrow is the way which leads to life (eternity in heaven). Matthew 7:13-14 If it didn’t matter which church that we attended, why are so few people going to receive eternal life in heaven?

Most churchgoers are not aware of the fact that they are believing in that which is not scriptural. Why would God say that narrow is the way that leads to life (eternal life in heaven), if most churchgoers were receiving, accepting and believing in the truth of Scripture? 2 Peter 2:1-2 1 John 4:1 Luke 18:8b

Everyone should realize that the most important thing in life is our need of God and His truth, of how we can receive eternal life. The only way we will know if we are being lied to is to check it out with God’s word. Having read the Bible we will become aware as to whether or not we are a member of a cult or pagan religion. Isaiah 59:12-13

When we read the Bible and find out that we are getting the truth of Scripture then we can rejoice! If we find out that we are getting falsehood then we can also rejoice knowing that this falsehood has now come to light. Praise the Lord! So we must read the Bible! Remember this, where we spend eternity is at stake, so it is of paramount importance that we read the Bible and rejoice! Isaiah 34:16a II Timothy 3:15 Deuteronomy 6:6-7; 11:18-19.
