Saturday, March 24
At 1:30 a.m. police arrested Daniel Muhia Kinyanjui, 33, of Winona, for fourth degree driving while intoxicated and driving after suspension after he was stopped near Sixth and South Baker Streets. Test results show Kinyanjui had a blood alcohol content of .12 percent.
Monday, April 16
At 3:41 p.m. police arrested Jacob Andrew Hunsicker, 18, of Winona, after he stole a checkbook from a car parked on the 900 block of West 10th Street and cashed an $80 check at Kwik Trip on April 13. He is being referred to the Winona County Attorney’s office for offering a forged check, check forgery, possession of a stolen check, obstructing the legal process and liability for crimes of another.
Tuesday, April 24
At 7:49 p.m. police responded to a report of people skateboarding in an empty swimming pool at the Winona Aquatic Center. It was reported that David Emmanul Hoffman, 23, of Winona, and Rick Jeffery Hatfield, 18, of Winona, fled when they noticed the police officers. Hoffman was ticketed with trespassing and fleeing on foot and Hatfield is awaiting possible charges of trespassing, fleeing on foot and causing damage to property.
At 3:09 p.m. police responded to a report that a 47-inch flat screen TV, valued at $880, was stolen from the lobby of a business located on the 150 block of Lafayette Street.
Wednesday, April 25
At 9:52 p.m. police arrested a 17-year-old male for domestic assault fear after his mother reported that he grabbed her by the arm and hit her on the back.
At 7:45 a.m. police ticketed Edward Robert Oslund, 19, of Maplewood, and Michael John Wigfield, 19, of Maplewood, for trespassing after it was reported that they were on the Winona State University campus near Maria Hall. It was reported that they were kicked off the campus on April 14 and asked not to come back.
At 3:45 p.m. it was reported that between April 20 and April 23 someone cut the lock to a shed at Gerdes Auto Repair and took roughly $400 worth of auto parts. Missing was a radiator, a bell housing, an intake manifold, an exhaust manifold and a hub and spindle from a Ford Mustang.
