The Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, MN is supported by a large group of community volunteers, entitled “Friends of Will.” These volunteers assist the Festival by distributing information, transporting company members to and from airports and apartments, providing meals, supporting educational programming, and ushering for performances. GRSF extends an open invitation to all interested community members to join this active volunteer organization, and to current volunteers to register their 2012 interests, which may be done at grsf.org. Questions regarding Friends of Will may be directed to Volunteer Coordinator Jean Hayes at email@example.com Usher sign-up slots are now available at the GRSF office, and volunteers are encouraged to take advantage of their complimentary ticket offer for the first three Festival Sunday matinee performances.
Friends of Will’s Education Committee announces the 2012 “Will Reads” programming- a series of three discussions of the GRSF 2012 plays led by Saint Mary’s and Winona State University faculty. This event is free to the public and will be at Mugby Junction – Lutheran Center (451 Huff St, Winona) from 7-8:30 PM on May 30, June 6, and June 13. Other free GRSF programming includes the “Chill with Will” performance of The Two Gentlemen of Verona on Friday, July 6th at 1 PM, free to all students ages 11 and up through a generous partnership with Wm. Miller Scrap of Winona, and the Free Preview program, through which free tickets will be available for all preview performances beginning May 1st.
