Friday, May 4
At 11:04 a.m. police arrested Brandon Wayne Riggs, 19, of Winona, after he stabbed 46-year-old Darin Wayne Salisbury in the stomach and the leg on the 800 block of West Sarnia Street. It was reported that the altercation began at the Minnesota City Kwik Trip. Salisbury was transported to Winona Health, and then to St. Mary’s in Rochester for surgery.
At 9:35 a.m. police responded to a report of a missing Merchants Bank checkbook from a locked vehicle parked on the 250 block of West Seventh Street.
Saturday, May 5
At 1:20 a.m. police arrested Benjamin Paul Nordlund, 22, of Winona, for fifth degree domestic assault fear and fifth degree domestic assault harm after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend into a wall several times near 10th and Center Streets.
Sunday, May 6
At 7:29 p.m. police arrested Linda Sue Heaser, 49, of Winona, for fifth degree domestic assault fear and fifth degree domestic assault harm after she allegedly punched and slapped her 31-year-old daughter.
At 6:58 p.m. police arrested Korey Lee Borchardt, 40, of Winona, for violation of a harassment restraining order after he texted his wife and put a letter in a suitcase that she found when their kids came to spend the weekend with her.
Monday, May 7
At 3:49 a.m. police responded to a report of a van engulfed in flames near Ninth and Olmstead Streets. The Winona Fire Department could not identify the cause of the fire.
Tuesday, May 8
At 2:07 a.m. police ticketed Dana Ellen Schlottman, 20, of Cologne, Minn., for underage consumption after officers noticed her being taken care of by a friend on the 100 block of East Third Street. Schlottman had a blood alcohol content of .20 percent and was transported to Winona Health for detox.
