Home and Community Options, Inc. invites you to their annual musical production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Written by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and, Russell Crouse. it is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers”. Many songs from the musical have become standards, including the title song “The Sound of Music”, “Edelweiss”, “My Favorite Things”, “Climb Ev’ry Mountain” and “Do-Re-Mi”.
This year’s production will be under the artistic direction of Mark Roeckers with Dr. Harry Mechell serving as musical director. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, May 29, with performances scheduled for 7:00 p.m., June 14, 15, 16, 18 and 19. A Sunday, June 17, performance is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Performances will be held at the Page Theatre, The Performance Center, Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona, Minnesota. Ticket prices are $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for senior citizens (62 and older) and children (12 and under). Tickets will be available starting May 29 at the Performance Center Box Office (507-457-1715) or online at www.pagetheatre.org. Box office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Money raised by this event will help support Home and Community Options’ mission of serving children and adults with developmental disabilities who are in need of residential and support services in order to live happily in the community.
