A committee has been organized to put together a chorus to present the “musical celebration of freedom” called Liberty to benefit the Habitat for Humanity project in Harmony. Liberty is a collection of patriotic and folk songs arranged for four part harmony with some solo and small group music. A narrator tells the story of America’s pursuit of liberty; it seems like an appropriate theme for the July 4th celebration as well as the building of a new Habitat home in our area. This production has been done previously in Harmony most recently in 2001. Audiences were enthusiastic.
There will be two performances, to coincide with Harmony’s 4th of July Celebration and the Harmony Hustle, another Habitat for Humanity fundraiser. Liberty will be presented at the Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony on Friday, July 6th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, July 7th at 2:00 pm.
Singers are needed. Rehearsals will be Sundays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Greenfield Lutheran Church starting Sunday, June 3rd. Practice CDs are available for those who cannot make every rehearsal.
All age groups are encouraged to participate, the larger the chorus, the better; invite anyone you can think of. Please call Marilyn Trouten, 886-3042 or Jacque Ryan, 886-2183 with any questions.
