Winona author, Dorothy Ruppert, will be on hand to sign her book, God Placed Her in My Path – Lessons Learned from the Furnace of Bipolar Disorder, on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Awakening Coffeehouse Grand Opening Block Party. The event will take place from 4:00-9:30 p.m. at 901 West Fifth Street, Winona.
This book is the compelling story of the author’s plight to obtain a correct diagnosis for her daughter in an era when bipolar disorder was not being diagnosed in children. In her book, the author seeks to break the stigma of mental illness and offer hope to families that live with it. Ruppert is a dedicated mental health advocate and speaks regularly on the subject.
In the U.S., one in four people suffers from a brain disorder. Come to this event and get a signed copy of Ruppert’s book, which provides answers to many puzzling questions about chronic mental illness.
The Awakening Coffeehouse Grand Opening Block Party will include a Chicken-Q, live music, and family-friendly activities.
